The Skype call inspired  ‘When I Call You’  by Francisco Bayon is an uplifting and unique summer anthem. Featuring accordion throughout the track builds up to a huge festival ready texture from just the Skype ringtone. I think everyone can agree that it is a very creative way of using the ringtone. Francisco’s fantastic vocals then come in and deliver some very catchy lyrics and melodic combinations that have been going round in my head for ages after listening to it. Go and get it now!

Daniel William Daidone delivers kooky and creative new-wave/indie/rock cocktail ‘On a Holiday’

Gearing up for the release of his new album Shapeless Things, alternative rock artist Daniel William Daidone takes his listeners on a wild adventure with this new track ‘On a Holiday’.

Influenced by an eclectic mix of artists including Talking Heads, The Cars and Weezer, Dan’s sound is a creative cocktail of modern rock, indie pop and New Wave.

A man with music in his blood, Dan is the grandson of violin virtuoso Adolfo Daidone (aka Al Duffy), who performed with the likes of The Tommy Dorsey Band, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Gene Krupa.

Dan has already received past exposure for his musical talents, four of his songs appearing in the US Showtime series, Shameless. Two of his tracks were also used in the animation short Bumble Beeing, which was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival.

Having toured extensively in a number of bands including Philadelphia pop-rock group Officer Roseland, Dan has played in locations including the UK, the US and Puerto Rico. Revered venues that he has played at include The Legendary Dobbs in Philadelphia and CBGBs in New York.

In 2008, Dan also took part in a marketing campaign for Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. He was able to raise over one thousand pounds in music sales for the charity.

On top of music, Dan has also lent his creative talents to writing and is the author of a children’s book What Was Our Teacher Doing At The Mall?

Clearly an exciting character, Dan seems certain to spice up today’s rock landscape with his unique sound and persona.

Norwegian pop singer Line Mari releases catchy and crisp single ‘Crush’

Hailing from Norway, fresh pop singer Line Mari releases this rock-infused pop song set to appear on her upcoming album.

Featuring some gorgeous vocals and crisp production, ‘Crush’ was recorded with the help of producer Rob Cass who has worked with the likes of Robbie Williams, Will Young and Paloma Faith.

Having played guitar and piano since the age of 10, Line has long had a passion for music, her mother often telling her she could feel her dancing in the womb. She started writing her own songs and performing to people as a late teenager, although she was very shy at first. However, this shyness also helped to fuel her songwriting, making her lyrics more personal and introspective.

Releasing her debut EP Fly High Fly Low in 2014, Line has already gained some recognition in Norway, her EP receiving acclaim from critics including a top score of 6 from Utropia. Her single ‘Why do I Cry’ was even played on national radio.

A highly versatile musician, Line not only sings and writes her own music, she also plays a number of instruments include guitar, piano and harmonica (she is currently also learning to play the fiddle). She has a keen interest in vintage music and vintage guitars and owns several custom made guitars and her own custom-made pedal-board.

Line was born in Tromsø, also living for some time in Svalbard, one of the most Northerly inhabited places in the world. As a child, she grew up regularly witnessing the beauty of the Northern Lights, as well as once having a close encounter with a polar bear whilst at Kindergarten.

Having already played a gig in Bedford and recorded in London, the singer is now looking to spread word of her talents to the UK.

Impressive electronic rework of Adam & the Ants’ Kings of the Wild Frontier by Johnny Normal (featuring Marco Pirroni)

Electronic musician Johnny Normal delivers this shiny synth-driven rework of Adam & the Ants’ 1980 classic album Kings of the Wild Frontier.

Reaching number 1 in the UK album chart and spawning three hit singles ‘Kings of the Wild Frontier’, ‘Dog Eat Dog’ and ‘Antmusic’, the original Kings of the Wild Frontier has left its legacy on the world.

Johnny Normal’s download only rework celebrates 36 years since the original release, and sees the talented producer recording his own unique versions of all of the songs. The album features double Ivor-Novello Award-Winning Ants songwriter and guitarist Marco Pirroni.

The album project was initially the idea of Adam Ant himself, who liked the style of Johnny’s music.

As Johnny explains: ‘My version of KOTWF is not meant as a copycat album as we could never improve on such a classic, rather an Ant fan’s homage to the fabulously exciting original record by Adam, Marco and co which had such an impact on my life and the lives of millions of the MTV generation.’

The project sees Johnny teaming up with close friend and guitarist Psycho Pete and backing vocalist/bass player Izzie voodoo.  Whilst on tour supporting Adam Ant, Johnny and Psycho played several of their own electronic interpretations of Ants songs, performing to crowds of up to 3000 people. The performances were well-received by audience members, cementing the idea for the duo to create their own electronic cover album.

In 2014, the project came to a frightening halt when Johnny Normal was hospitalised in three intensive-care units with a succession of life-threatening illnesses. His life support was turned off twice and he was expected not to survive. Beating the odds, he pulled through, his family requesting that the unfinished album be played whilst he was in his coma, spurring him on to fight death. ‘I have no doubt this provided me with a subconscious link to the outside world and aided my recovery,’ Johnny has stated.

Appealing to both Adam and the Ants fans and electronic music lovers, it’s a record that all kinds of music enthusiasts can get into.

UK rapper J Keys about to blow up with catchy new party anthem ‘Wreckless’

Featuring a killer hook and a lively party atmosphere, ‘Wreckless’ is the new fun single from Essex-born, Bournemouth-based rising UK hip hop star, J Keys.

The rapper started writing music 10 years ago, his debut album ‘When Idols Become Rivals’ dropping a couple years back, receiving much praise from fans.

With a new LP in the works, J plans to slowly drip-feed us a new track each month, ‘Wreckless’ being the first taster. It comes accompanied by some vibrant action-packed visuals.

Half-Filipino/Austrian Beatboxer Pipo releases new song ‘No Go!’ as part of Loopexx

 Loopexx is a new exciting duo featuring half-Filipino/Austrian human drum machine Pipo (aka James Philip Platzer) and Austrian singer and guitarist Eric K.

Their unique style is a blend of beatboxing, distorted guitars and positive lyrics that inspire social change.

Both from very different backgrounds, Pipo comes from an r&b background whilst Eric’s background is primarily in rock.

The pair’s altruistic outlook is a reflection of the difficulties they have both had to face in life and having to overcome them.

Whilst living in Austria, Pipo has battled with racism for his Filipino roots. He is the lucky survivor of 2013 cyclone, Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded. Pipo has family in the Philippines who he regularly visits.

Eric meanwhile was forced to abandon a promising career as a professional footballer after an injury in 1991, unable to walk for an entire year.

Loopexx’s quirky musical concoction of rock and hip hop and their world-encompassing message of unity and philanthropy make them an inspirational and exciting new group in this generations bustling musical landscape.

As with previous tracks, all profits gained from this single go to charity.

Brooklyn band Newborn give new life to rock – new single ‘Beautiful Disguise’ and upcoming EP

Following the release of groovy indie single ‘Runaround’, Brooklyn band Newborn have now released the second track from their upcoming EP, a smoky guitar anthem called ‘Beautiful Disguise’ that discusses the use of lyrics to hide one’s flaws and mortality.

The band’s refreshing sound is the result of a multitude of rock influences including Muse, Nirvana, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Arctic Monkeys.

Formed by high school friends Allen James and Eric Weglicki who met in 2005, the two jammed for several years before finally finding a bassist and drummer, playing their first gig in 2013 as a four-piece band. This was later cut down to a three person lineup, both drummer and bassist leaving, the band finding their current percussionist Blake Suben, guitarist Eric Weglicki switching to bass.

Frontman Allen discusses the band name, which stemmed from an incident in an elevator one day: ‘It was one of those days where my depression was really bad. The elevator doors opened and a mother came strolling in with her baby. The baby looked right into my eyes and gave me the silliest, happiest smile I’ve ever seen. It completely obliterated my bad mood. I told Eric the story later that day and we decided to call our band “Newborn”. To us the name represents a way of looking through life with constant marvel and to always live in the moment. The way a child does.’

 

Allen has battled with depression for a long time, initially causing him insomnia, sometimes only averaging five hours of sleep a week. Upon leaving a four year college course in physical therapy to form a band, he found that this depression and insomnia was cured. In a wicked twist of fate, he then began receiving bizarre muscular skeletal problems that that caused him to fall into another bout of depression.

 

‘Most of our songs were written during this time,’ he recounts. ‘On one hand my life was going so well in that I was doing what I loved and being loved for doing it, and on the other hand it was just a complete nightmare. I’m definitely not out of those woods but I am trying to keep a positive attitude . Music is perhaps the biggest reason for that. It really does heal people.’

The upcoming EP, self-titled Newborn, was mastered by Joe Laporta, who has worked with artists as esteemed as David Bowie, Foo Fighters, The Weeknd, The Killers and Imagine Dragons.

 

The EP is scheduled for release June 14^th.

Andrea Di Giovanni releases atmospheric new electropop single ‘I’ll Take Care of Myself’

21-year-old Italian-born singer, Andrea Giovanni, is set to release atmospheric new electropop song, ‘I’ll Take Care of Myself’, set to drop April 15th. Taking influence vocally from Sam Smith and Jess Glynne, the artist delivers a soaring vocal performance that has the potential to appeal both to underground fans and the masses. Marco Casaluce produces the instrumental, opening with brooding synth swells before erupting with some hard-hitting bass.

Raised in Rome, Andrea moved to the UK in 2013 to pursue his dreams as a singer. A sufferer of the rare skin condition vitiligo, Andrea was bullied in the youth for the affliction putting him in a very dark place. His strict Catholic upbringing also made it hard for him to openly come to terms with his bixesuality. Moving to the UK, he was able to finally find acceptance, learning to embrace them as strengths instead of weaknesses.

As he explains himself, ‘I started to see vitiligo as my edge and distinctive characteristic of my personality, a strength. I decided to show it in the covert art-work of the single, ‘taking care of myself’ means also the ability to transform what you’ve always considered weaknesses into beautiful strengths.’

Andrea also has an EP ‘Soultrip’ on the way scheduled for release in July.

New single release by Elle Bee

Elle Bee is set to release her album in early 2016 and single ‘So’ on October 19^th

Recently flown out to California by Kiss the Girl to feature on their album, Elle recorded two songs which were later featured on hit US TV shows 90210 and Charmed whilst also appearing on MTV. The song also was used on ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ featuring Jennifer Aniston and Will Ferrell’s DVD boxset.

Elle is now moving on to solo ventures having recently written and recorded a pop album entitled ‘Ugly Beautiful’ produced by big names James Ruddick and Paul Johnston at Rhythm Studios.

The influence of Dale Griffin and Mott the Hoople has had a profound effect on Elle and in some ways has shaped her latest offering. His presence, support and encouragement was instrumental in her success and it is evident a significant amount of talent has been passed on to his protégé.
